Marina Beach - Chennai

Being the longest urban beach in India, the 6-kilometer-long Marina beach is situated along the Bay of Bengal. It is located 20 kilometres from Chennai International Airport and 600 kilometres from Kerala. It also has a harbour.

The Marina is well-known for its varied ecosystems, beauty, and atmosphere. However, since the turn of the 20th century, plastics, human waste, and other non-biodegradable materials have increased the pollution of this beach.

Recent measures by many voluntary organizations have begun the process to restore the beach to the way it was before and make the beach clean.

Both residents and visitors to South India rank the Marina among the most popular destinations. People can stroll down the pavement close to the sea every morning to watch the dawn because of the area's beautiful charm. In addition, the road leads to the beach and features statues of well-known Indian figures that are visible from the road when driving or strolling. The Santhome Church, Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Temple, Sri Parthasarathy Temple, and Vivekananda House are a few of the coastal tourist attractions.

Thus, remember to include a visit to the marina beach in your trip plan when you travel to South India.
